Roaming … feet and mind
I discovered a new garden the other day …. lots of play areas for children, trees, roses, a wet flower garden … all built alongside and on top of a water treatment plant.
Smoking
I’m not sure about the jump from roses to cigarettes, but here goes …
20 is the legal age of smoking in Japan so I couldn’t understand how cigarette vending machines worked. Apparently, you need a Taspo card issued by the government to prove your age & the same applies to vending machines selling alcohol (I haven’t seen any of these) I wonder if youngsters here forge cards?!
Clean, tidy … and attention to detail
All working vehicles are so so clean …. cement mixers, delivery trucks etc
We watched some tarmac laying; such precision. But the manning levels are something else!
All these guys sweeping away to ensure clean sharp edges with no stray tarmac on the pavement or on the non-tarmacked section of the road. In addition to these, you should see all the baton-waving staff ensuring the safety of pedestrians and traffic.
A few amusing photographs
So how do you clean your taps?! I smile at the thought of solid shoes!
This barrier is outside a massive building site & I muse about who bought it and why! Someone with a penchant for pink? A heavily discounted item after the Year of the Rabbit (2011)?
