Osaka

Osaka

We managed a couple of nights in Osaka the weekend before Christmas, taking the opportunity to travel before the next Covid wave. Osaka is the second largest metropolitan area after Tokyo and is renown for its food.

Shop Frontages

The crazy 3D shop fronts add fun in the areas offering cheap eats

High Up

Anyone who knows Geoff, will know that we always head to the highest viewing point. In Osaka, this is the Abeno Harukas, 300 metres high. The observation deck, over the top three floors offers a fabulous view over the city.

Osaka Castle

When it was built in the 1580’s, this was the largest castle in Japan.

Random Photos

Only in Japan can children choose between Thomas or a Shinkansen!

Tsutenkaku Tower, 100 metres high, and its decorated base.

I like the word ‘finnest’ … a cross between finest & thinnest! And a manhole cover.

Spectacular!
