All about Towers ….
First of all, a blast from the past …
Tower Records is alive and well here in Japan! We visited this store in Shibuya, Tokyo … 8 floors of music. The great excitement was all about a J Pop group, Snowman, with long queues of women & girls on two floors waiting their turn to be photographed alongside a large poster or cutouts of their favourite band member; with 9 members of the group, I guess there is plenty of choice. I can’t imagine the excitement in pre-Covid times if the band were live.
They were formed in 2012 so maybe they are older than they look …. Having watched the young lady above strike her pose, I decided not to try!
Tokyo Tower, a communications and observation tower, is 332.9 metres (1,092ft) was inspired by Eiffel Tower, and is painted orange and white to comply with air safety regulations. It is possible to view the city from a high deck – a treat we are saving for later.
Tokyo Tower is a great landmark & when ever i am roaming around our part of Tokyo, I can look up & see it.

Go on Avril – strike that pose! I dare you. Seriously. Though, Tokyo Tower must provide a great fixed point for orienteering around the city!
Tower Records! Wow, I remember it from 35 years ago!
And the Tokyo Tower is wonderful, especially in a city that otherwise doesn’t have many visible monuments.
And Tower Records as we remember it! x
